At Chippewa Humane Association, we’re proud to serve Chippewa County, Wisconsin, and the surrounding communities. Our mission is simple: to provide a safe haven, compassionate care, and a second chance for animals in need.

We welcome stray cats and dogs from contracted municipalities as well as beloved pets surrendered by their families. On any given day, you’ll find dogs, cats, and sometimes reptiles or other small animals waiting to meet their future families at our shelter or at our PetSmart Cat Adoption Center in Eau Claire.

One of the things that makes our shelter special is that we never place a time limit on adoptable animals. As long as an animal remains healthy and behaviorally sound, they have a safe place with us until they’re adopted.

Beyond adoptions, we’re passionate about educating our community. We work with individuals, schools, and organizations to promote kindness and responsible pet ownership, building stronger connections between people and the animals who share their lives.

The Chippewa Humane Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We’re licensed through the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture and undergo annual state inspections.
